Today I am delighted to be in conversation with pianist and healer Marta Johnson.

Marta’s first career was as a professional pianist, mostly working in the classical and musical theater worlds in Chicago. However, a crisis of performance anxiety brought her to the world of inner healing and spiritual growth. And now she uses Internal Family Systems and AuraTransformation in her own life as well as in her professional practice with others.
So, if you’ve never heard of Internal Family Systems, much less AuraTransformation, don’t worry—they’re both a big part of what we’ll be talking about today. You’ll be getting a whole crash course on not just what they are, but also why and how they can be super helpful for addressing a range of psychological and spiritual concerns.
As a musician and healer myself, I was personally very excited to connect with Marta and have a chance to really dig deep on topics like how, as performers, sometimes when our anxiety is at its highest, great beauty can be present as well; how it can be a lot to ask of a little kid to perform publicly at their first music recitals; how important it is to stay relaxed when big emotional releases come up during our healing journeys; how an encounter with a place called The Redemption Window allowed Marta to practice self-forgiveness; what happens when your aura isn’t taking care of you the way it used to; and perhaps most potently for this current moment, how crucial it is to learn to welcome the hate and anger that lives inside all of us and relate to it with kindness and care so that we can ultimately distill and bring it into health instead of spreading it out into the world around us.
