
Today it’s been ten years since my dad Terry passed away.
He’d been ailing for so long at that point, though, that that day didn’t feel like a shock as much as a completion.
Still, it feels important to mark the significance of this decade without his music, his laughter, his deep care for children, and his intelligent grace as a teacher.
In his honor today, I’d invite you all–whether you knew him personally or not–to take a moment to be absolutely full-hearted in your enthusiasm for something. Whether it’s something that momentarily strikes your fancy, has been a lifelong obsession, or anything in between. His love was as loud as anything and everything else about him, and I think we all could use a little more volume in that general direction.
